Hairy Grapes

We trimmed Ryan's hair last night. We didn't do the whole ceremonious first hair cute deal, because he has so much hair that we have trimmed it a few times already. However, we have never saved his hair and that is something that my dad really wanted us to do. It's a tradition thing, I guess. So, Brett put the hair that we cut in a Ziploc bag and we weren't quite sure what to do with it after that, so it was just left on the counter. This morning, we were hurrying to get out the door for church, so I threw some snacks into ziplocs. Conveniently, there was a bag on the counter, which I used. During sacrament meeting, I was shoving grapes into Ryan's mouth to keep him quiet. I noticed that the grapes were hairy! I had used the ziploc with Ryan's hair in it! So much for saving it. Sorry, Dad! We tried!

My Political Activist Hubby

Brett subscribes to a magazine called Diversity, Inc. There was an article about Proposition 8 a while back that he responded to. I was thumbing through this month's issue and on the last page was Brett's submission supporting traditional marriage. It was pretty cool to see it in print. Although, his comment is getting bashed by the editor, but at least his opinion is getting out there. To see the article click here. I don't really recommend the magazine. For boasting a name like " Diversity, Inc.", it sure doesn't support diverse opinions. Liberal only. And they think conservatives are closed minded.

Four WONDERFUL Years!

What a year! This fourth year of marriage was quite eventful. I just keeps getting better and better!

Fun Trip

Our great friends, the Devines were so nice and drove all the way from UT to meet us in Las Vegas! Our trips together are always too short - we could stay up all night talking, but now we both have kids and we can hardly keep our eyes open past 11:00 pm. We are so grateful they arranged the trip! We had so much fun!! Thanks, guys!

One of Those Moments

Saturday night, while the boys were at the Priesthood Session, some friends and I went out to dinner. Ryan was pretty tired and very grumpy. I ordered some refried beans for him and tried to feed him with a spoon. He would NOT have that. He kept screaming until I realized that all he wanted to do was feed himself. So, I took off his shirt and let him have at it. It was one of those moments where if I was someone else watching me, I would have thought, " Oh my gosh, look at that baby making a huge mess! I can't believe that mother!" It is funny how we have a lot of those thoughts until we actually find ourselves with a screaming 10 month old who just wants to eat beans with his hands!

I thought that I might need the bib more than Ryan!

And General Conference is my iron. How lucky are we that we have a living prophet and apostles who give us the guidance and encouragement we need to get all of our "wrinkles" out.

This is Real

Brett told me about one of his friends who has this unreal sleep-talking problem. He has and alter-ego in his sleep and if you talk to him while he is sleeping, he will talk back to you as this other person. I just thought it was hilarious. Then, today, we were sent some videos of this guy in action. I know many of you will think, " He has got to be faking.." he is not! How would you like to me married to him... lots of laughs at night!
