The Best Day

A few Saturdays ago, we had a jam packed day.  We went to the beach (see previous post), came home, changed, went to a friends house for dinner and then Brett took Ryan to the Quakes game.  The Quakes game was 15 innings.  That is why I don't like baseball.  Anyway, it was a long, fun filled day.  The best part was how thrilled Ryan was about the day.  He got be with his bet buddies all day long and into the night.  That is such a great feeling to see your kid so happy and excited.  It was the best day.

Labor Day at the Fair

I knew my parents really loved my boys when they called us on Labor Day to see if we wanted to go the the LA Fair. We never went to the fair growing up.  We don't love crowds, animals or fried food.  So we didn't go.  However, we knew our boys would love the animals.  Se we braved the crowds and did it.  The boys did love the animals.  Me on the other hand, didn't enjoy the expereince as much.  Especially when I kissed Ryan's cheek and he smelled like goat.  Gross. Besides the goats, it was enjoyable to take the boys and see them have fun.  That makes it worth it.

More Beach Days

A few weeks ago it was SO hot.  105 to be exact. Luckily we had plans with great friends at the beach. With the way our summers go, hopefully we will get one more beach day in before we switch from hot season to not so hot season We only have two seasons here in CA just so you know.

Backyard Camping

Brett took Ryan on his first "camp-out".  In my parent's back yard.  It was perfect.  We had pizza, went in the spa and then the two of them "camped".  It ended little tramatic for Ryan.  Brett was having a hard time sleeping what with all of the noises and spinklers going on... so he went inside to read for a bit.  Of course while he was out of the tent, Ryan woke up.  Brett was just inside so he could hear Ryan stuggling to get out of the tent.  That was the end of the camping for Ry. Despite that, I think he had fun.  He talks about doing it again, but Dad has assured him that he will stay in the tent next time.
